Hello and welcome!  I would like to congratulate you on taking the first step towards improved health and vitality for you and your family.

With current healthcare cutbacks and physician shortages, many people are frustrated with the quality of medical care that they are receiving. Doctors, who would like to spend more time with patients on issues like lifestyle changes, nutrition, and wellness are forced to treat only immediate concerns. Patients are often left to fend for themselves with many unanswered questions. The present circumstances are leading to a situation where the medical system is focused solely on the treatment of disease, thereby largely disregarding the importance of disease prevention and wellness promotion. Patients know that they shouldn't be suffering from ailments such as fatigue, insomnia, lack of energy and digestive complaints, but aren’t equipped with the tools that are necessary for change. Naturopathic medicine can help you to regain your health and vitality by helping you to take responsibility and ownership of your health and by providing you with the tools to do so. I view myself in this regard as an educator and coach, but it is you who is taking the journey.

My interest in the field of Naturopathic Medicine began when I was studying at the University of Guelph. A close friend of mine was working with a Naturopathic Doctor to improve her health and as I watched her regain her vitality and energy I was intrigued and wanted to learn more. I began working with a Naturopathic Doctor myself changing my diet and lifestyle and saw very positive health improvements. I spent a lot of time researching this field and the more I learned, I knew that this was the career path that I was meant to take.

I completed an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Guelph and went on to study at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine - Canada's premier institute for Naturopathic Education and research. Before settling in Guelph my husband and I lived in Calgary for 3 years where I practiced alongside midwives and other practitioners with a special interest in perinatal and pediatric health care.  After the birth of my son in 2006 we decided to move back to Guelph to be closer to family and friends.  Now with 2 little ones life is busy and hectic, but they are teaching me daily how to stop and enjoy the world before it passes me by.

As every person is unique I take a very individualized approach to health care with each client. I utilize clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, acupuncture, traditional chinese medicine and lifestyle counseling to help clients to reach their optimal health and not just to alleviate illness. I feel that it is important to educate and empower clients to make informed and healthy lifestyle decisions. My practice is focused on family health care with a special interest in digestive health, allergies and sensitivities, prenatal and pediatric health.

I am a member in good standing of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, The Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and The Association of Perinatal Naturopathic Doctors and am registered and licensed with the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy-Naturopathy. I welcome all types of concerns from all patients, and have extensive experience with pregnancy and children's health. I look forward to working with you and your family to achieve your health and wellness goals.
